Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
The initial session includes the therapist outlining the therapy process, procedures and the rules regarding confidentiality and to address any questions you may have about these. But, most importantly - it is about getting to know one another! Establishing a relationship takes time and the first session starts the process of forging a partnership of trust and support. There is no obligation to disclose everything during this first session - in fact, it's not practical. It's OK if someone has some nervousness about a first therapy session - but, more often than not, people end that hour feeling positive about their experience.
